Local Medicare Agent — Northeast Florida
I'm William Gray — an independent Medicare broker based in Daytona Beach with a local office in Palm Coast. I serve all four counties, know the local hospital networks, and compare every plan in your ZIP code at no cost to you.
A call center in another state doesn't know that Mayo Clinic Jacksonville isn't in every plan's network, or that Palm Coast residents have different plan options than Daytona Beach. Local knowledge changes the outcome.
AdventHealth Palm Coast, Halifax Health, Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, Baptist Health, UF Health — I know which plans include which hospitals in each county. This matters enormously when choosing a plan.
Preferred pharmacy networks vary by plan and by county. I know which pharmacies are preferred in each plan across Flagler, Volusia, Duval, and St. Johns counties — and how to minimize your drug costs.
I'm not a call center in another state. I'm a licensed Florida insurance agent based in Daytona Beach with a local office in Palm Coast. When you have a problem, you call me directly.
I'm not employed by any insurance company. I represent 15+ carriers and have no incentive to push one plan over another. My job is to find the best plan for you — period.
I contact every client before October 15 to review their plan for the coming year. Plans change annually — networks shrink, formularies shift, premiums rise. You shouldn't have to track this yourself.
Enrollment forms, Scope of Appointment requirements, carrier applications — I handle all of it. You don't need to navigate the bureaucracy alone.
I serve all four counties in Northeast Florida — in person, by phone, or by video.
Palm Coast, Bunnell, Flagler Beach, Beverly Beach, Hammock, Marineland
Flagler County is one of the fastest-growing counties in Florida, with Palm Coast adding thousands of new retirees each year. I serve the entire county — from the Hammock oceanfront communities to Bunnell and the western sections of Palm Coast.
Palm Coast is my primary Flagler County service area. I have a local office at 4869 Palm Coast Pkwy NW.
Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Port Orange, DeLand, New Smyrna Beach, Deltona, Holly Hill, South Daytona, Edgewater, Oak Hill
Volusia County is the heart of my service area. With the highest concentration of Medicare beneficiaries in Northeast Florida, Volusia has more plan options and more complexity than most counties. I've helped hundreds of Volusia County residents navigate the annual enrollment process.
My main office is in Daytona Beach at 1616 Concierge Blvd, Suite 100 — serving all of Volusia County.
Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Baldwin, Mandarin, Southside, Northside
Duval County is home to Mayo Clinic Florida and Baptist Health — two of the most sought-after hospital systems in the state. I help Jacksonville-area residents navigate the critical question of which plans include Mayo Clinic in their network, and which don't.
Jacksonville clients: I serve Duval County by phone, video, and in-person. Mayo Clinic network verification is a standard part of every plan comparison I run.
St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Beach, Nocatee, Fleming Island, St. Augustine Beach, World Golf Village, Fruit Cove, Julington Creek
St. Johns County has a high concentration of retirees from out of state who previously had excellent employer coverage. The transition to Medicare can feel like a downgrade — but with the right Medigap plan, you can maintain nationwide access to any Medicare provider. I help St. Johns County residents understand all their options.
Nocatee and Ponte Vedra Beach clients: I serve St. Johns County by phone, video, and in-person. Many clients here prefer Medigap for the unrestricted provider access.
Not all Medicare agents are the same. A captive agent works for one insurance company. An independent broker like me works for you.
| Factor | Captive Agent | Independent Broker (Me) |
|---|---|---|
| Carriers represented | 1 carrier only | 15+ carriers |
| Plan options shown | Only their plans | Every plan in your ZIP |
| Incentive structure | Sell company products | Find your best fit |
| Annual review | May not contact you | Every year before AEP |
| Local knowledge | Varies | Deep local expertise |
| Cost to you | Free | Free |
You can search Medicare.gov's plan finder for local agents, ask your doctor's office for a referral, or contact an independent broker directly. The key distinction is independent vs. captive — an independent broker like me represents multiple carriers and can show you every plan available in your ZIP code.
No. Medicare agents and brokers are paid by the insurance carriers, not by you. The premium you pay is the same whether you enroll through an agent or directly with the carrier. Using an agent costs you nothing and gives you expert guidance.
The terms are often used interchangeably. Technically, a "broker" represents multiple carriers while an "agent" may represent just one. In practice, most people use both terms to mean a licensed professional who helps you compare and enroll in Medicare plans. I'm both — licensed in Florida and appointed with 15+ carriers.
Absolutely. I review existing clients' plans every year before the Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7). Plans change annually — networks shrink, formularies shift, premiums rise. An annual review often finds savings of $500–$2,000/year.
I serve Flagler, Volusia, Duval, and St. Johns counties — and surrounding areas. I meet clients in person at my Daytona Beach or Palm Coast offices, or by phone and video for clients throughout the region.
I serve Flagler, Volusia, Duval, and St. Johns counties. Free consultations — in person, by phone, or by video. No cost, no pressure, no obligation.
